WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO OUR COMMUNITY!!

These photos were taken from the road looking on to the property of a Type IV landfill in Almeda between Highway 521 and Highway 288.

There are two major differences between this landfill and the landfill that we're opposing:

1. The Almeda landfill is hidden. Not visible from either highway.

The landfill we're fighting would be in plain view from Hwy. 521, the Grand Parkway and from miles around.

2. The Almeda landfill is a hole in the ground being filled with trash.

The landfill that we're fighting would create a 150-foot mountain of trash.

This sign directs you to the landfill from Hwy. 288.

The landfill we're opposing would accept tires.

The application we're opposing provides for "large item storage" by their entrance.

More "large item storage"?

Piles of trash on the landfill site.

These tires are piled up on landfill property, but just outside the landfill hole. By law they must be cut before going into the landfill.
